Carole Leander (she/her)

Musical Director and Conductor

In the old building, during Mrs. Leander's first 17 years, the choir room had no outside windows. Yikes! Now every day she is incredibly thankful for students, music, laughter and natural light. One year, they were cleaning out the drama storage and there was a knock on the metal door from the breezeway during choir. She opened it, only to find a straight-faced Mr. Burnett wearing a very retro, high neck wedding gown. He stood there for about five seconds and then slowly shut the door. The choir never quite recovered that class period. Mrs. Leander is thrilled to say that daily life is never boring and she's thankful for all students, faculty and staff in the Anacortes High School community past, present and future! Long live the arts!
